Pumpkin Carving at its finest... after the farm this weekend, we had been waiting for the perfect time to carve our Jack-O-Lantern! Mark has been under the weather, but he sucked it up and got to carving right after I cleaned up the kitchen after dinner... naturally. Our big, 21 pound pumpkin had a ridiculously thick rind and was really tough to get open, but once inside... pumpkin guts galore!!! Isaac only wanted to use his spoon to scoop, but once Mark dug in with his hands, Isaac followed suit. He liked the cold, slimy feeling. Isaac got a little bored with the scooping, so he began driving Doc Hudson on it and drawing - with an orange marker - "here's his shoulder and an ear, here is the nose and knee..." who knew old Jack had all of those parts!? We finished the evening by watching It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. If you are wondering where Miss Meg is, she was so miserable and cranky that she wasn't having any fun, so I put her to bed while the boys carved the pumpkin!!
